Cruised 2009 out of Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy and did
the Eastern Mediterranean.
Ship Facts : Large 122,000 tonnage,
2,850 passengers, 1,150 crew, 1041 ft length.

We really enjoyed this brand
new ship. We were its third cruise, so everything was crisp and clean.
Its décor can be described as simple but eloquent. Beautiful art work
was displayed around the ship. The color scheme was light with some
expression of style. We found that the real green lawn was novel but
used much. We played a few of the lawn games and laughed at the staff
moving around a hose and sprinkler.

We had a balcony, I mean
veranda cabin and just loved sitting out on it eating our breakfast,
soaking in the crisp morning cool just set the tone for the adventurous
day ahead. The bathroom layout and size was the best we have had, my
wife and I could both be in it at the same time. The shower was glass
enclosed with room enough to bend over and wash those sore feet. The
interactive flat screen TV with its ability to order room service and
watch a movie on demand over several evenings was a great improvement.

The food was wonderful. Most
evenings we were in the dining room and our found the selections to be
good and tastefully prepared. During the days at sea, starting at 10
and running through the lunch hour they would clear out the center of
the dining room and presented us with a buffet of brunch selections.
You could sleep in until 10 and still get breakfast, great idea.

Our days at sea were calm, and
peaceful around several of the pools. Seemed to always be a place to
sit or lay down and take a short cat nap. We watch several of the glass
blowing demonstrations. What a unique thing to have on a ship.
